Is Ortho-K Safe?

Ortho-K was approved by the FDA in 2002 and is considered both safe and effective. It’s also reversible—if you stop using your lenses, your eyes will return to their original shape over time. Like any eye treatment, there can be risks, most of which are associated with improper lens cleaning. In rare cases, this can lead to minor infections but are typically resolved with antibiotic eye drops.
